İstanbul Airport is the main gateway airport to all corners of the world. It is located on the European side of the city at approximately 45-minutes distance from the city center.

Sabiha Gökçen Airport is another international airport located on İstanbul’s Asian side.

In addition, it’s possible to fly direct from many European cities to Türkiye’s coastal cities such as İzmir, Muğla, and Antalya.

Apart from Turkish Airlines, Türkiye’s national carrier, there are numerous other international airlines that fly direct to İstanbul from abroad.

    VISA REQUIREMENTS

The Electronic Visa (e-Visa) Application System is available for applying for a visa. This system allows visitors traveling to Türkiye to obtain their e-Visas online (www.evisa.gov.tr) easily, in approximately three minutes.

It is possible to obtain an e-Visa 7/24 anywhere with an internet connection. The applicants can obtain their visa after they fill in the necessary information concerning their identity, passport, and travel dates, and pay the visa fee online.

You are kindly advised to have a travel document/passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of your arrival in Türkiye.
English, French, Spanish, Dutch, Polish, German, Arabic, and Chinese language options are avaliable in the e-Visa system.

In addition to Visa and Mastercard, payment is accepted by other commonly used credit cards and debit cards.

Tour operators may apply for group e-Visas and make lump-sum payments for them.

    MONEY

     Cards and cash machines (ATMs)

In Türkiye, you will find a very large number of banks, and even in small villages, you will find ATMs. If you are going somewhere remote or rural, it’s probably a good idea to carry cash with you.

Credit and debit cards are usually accepted, but in small villages, you might enter some shops that accept only cash.

    Currency

In Türkiye, the official currency is the Turkish Lira. In cities, district centers, and in all airports, there are exchange offices where you can exchange all currencies.
